I'm roping up a book and I wanted to know what ya'll think. Please give it a quick gander. Smile
NOTE: This excerpt mentions God (no specific religion). I would like for you to please put religious preferences away while you read this.
    Excerpt:

    --

After managing to get lost in the funeral home’s maze they came to a tower like wall, different from all the others. The wall’s smooth surface had been painted a stunning, deep sapphire blue. Helena and Aria stare at its perfection, dumbfound. Helena walks towards it, as if it is beckoning her. As she walks towards it, tiny golden-brown stars appear and get bigger the closer she gets. Her breathing quickens and she reaches the wall. Next thing she knows, she’s stepping into the wall. Aria starts screaming at Helena, “Don’t go in there! You don’t know what its purpose is. What are you doing!??”

Aria’s screaming becomes muted as Helena’s entire body is enveloped inside the starry scenery. Walking forward, Helena could hear a chuckling stream, gulping frogs, and humming grasshoppers. Yet, she can see nothing but stars. A shadow appears out of nowhere, of a man, walking towards her. His gate is a proud, yet humble one.

The man, needing no courage, speaks in a deep, rhythmic voice, “Precious things and people come and go faster than the rising of the sun....sometimes one more than the other. It can't be helped, it can't be stopped. Everyone is blind to it, deaf to it. They care not if the person is in danger of being put into waste and despair. This is a good thing. For no mere mortal may heal this broken-down warrior, a servant of God. Or be their beloved. Only he, the God of all, may heal this person and be their beloved one. There is only one who will help guide that person through the fires burning in hell to their future. They are important to the one and only Deity. Though the journey is considered lengthy, forsaken, and solitary, the person will care not. They will do not do this for themselves, but for God. They are never alone and will always be surrounded by God Almighty.”

His voice went silent as his footsteps halted next to her. Helena stared at his merciless face. His nose perfect, his eyes compassionate and pure with all the colors of the earth in them. Shaking her head, she finally realized, she knows who he is.
