    First topic message reminder :

Nothing is easy when you're a patient at an institution for the mentally ill. No matter what you suffer from, there are troubles and tribulations that one must overcome in order to remain somewhat normal and in control of your own mind. Not to mention the fact that, at this particular institution, the treatments are radical and sometimes cruel and inhumane. As a new volunteer, your job is to interact with the patients and help them with their day to day tasks. So how will I, a patient, react when seeing you becomes part of my regular day? Will I dismiss you? Or will I let you get to know the person inside?
The setting, specifically, is a criminally insane asylum (or, at least, an asylum with a criminally insane section).

Myen Bioen, as they say in Germany, or as they call it, “Germanean”. Lol…

    Name: Gregory Wilde
Nicknames: He was nicknamed “The Trickster” after his spate of killings in which the victims had been tricked out of everything they owned and then murdered, made to look like suicides. It took the police five years to catch up with him.
    Gender: Male
    Age: 28
    Sexuality: Straight
    Height: 6’9

Body Type: Gregory is tall, with wide shoulders and a narrow waist. His muscles aren’t overly large, but are well defined.
Hair Colour: Natural? Black. But he’s dyed it purple.
    Hair Style: Wild vertical spikes.
Eye Colour: A very dark green.
Facial Features: He has a somewhat squared, angular face with just a hint of curving.

Personality: Gregory is a tricky individual, being able to leap through loopholes like they were large hoops. He is intelligent and selfish, and does things just for the hell of it more then monetary gain. He is sort of arrogant, and views the entirety of life as a game in which the object is to cause as much trouble as possible.

    Other: Find out.

History: Not much is known about his earlier life, and the name Gregory Wilde only appears six years ago, suggesting an alias that means he is not an easy man to work out the background of. He appeared six years ago, murdering 13 people after tricking them out of their possessions, and was on the run evading police for the next five years. He was thus nicknamed “The Trickster”. He takes immense pride in that nickname, and does his best to play up to that persona.

All day yesterday, the majority of the night and all this morning I’d been thinking about one thing; how would today start? Do I go in there, angry? Irritated? Happy? As though nothing that occurred yesterday even happened? I could go in there acting cocky that he’d rose, but I doubt it would at all benefit me. Pissing him off gets me nothing, not when it’s for the same reason.. I needed something new. If I could handle the attacks from his temper that he’ll let out when he does get angry, than I could very well finish his puzzle before he finishes mine, if I’m lucky.
“Are you listening at all? Kristina?” As usual I was being escorted to Mr. Wilde’s room from the elevator downstairs where I was greeted. I’m not sure how long Karl had been talking, or how much he’d said, but since we stepped on the floor I was deaf to him.
“Sorry, I was out in space. What did you say?”
“I asked you how you’re doing with your patients, three times. You know if you’re sick, you can’t go in there.”
“Don’t you think I know that, Karl? I’m not sick, just distracted. The key?” I more demanded than asked. He was in the ‘pick at my moods’ mode, and I wasn’t up to be bothered with his questions, which he was evidently stunned by. I’ve tried to get away from him to my patients before, but I generally wasn’t as rude as I was acting with him right now. He tossed me the key and stomped off down the hallway.. I’d hear about my 'bitchiness' at lunch no doubt.

I unlocked the door and walked in, letting the door close on its own behind me. “Good morning Mr. Wilde.” Well, I’d picked the mood to go in with; as if nothing had happened at all.

Wilde looks up as the girl enters, closing the newspaper on the article he was reading. He would have been doing the crossword, to be honest, but it's kind of difficult without a pen. He might ask for that next; there's no point in visualising a crossword, because you could make any number of mistakes and not notice them. Well, in theory at least. And he wants the completed one to be there at all times....oh well.
He had to hide the newspaper a few times when doctors came in with his meals, or to change the pot that serves as his toilet. It's rather undignified, squatting over an urn in the corner, but let's be honest; he doesn't really have a choice now, does he?

The girl is acting as if there is nothing wrong, as if yesterday never happened, and that has him instantly on guard. She must be after something if she is ignoring what happened, or seeking to make him think he was wrong. He was wrong, in a way- he should never have exploded like that; he can blame the isolation, the nerves, the stress, but to be honest, it was his vanity and nothing more- and although he isn't sorry for what he said, he is sorry for how he said it. Here he is, meant to be a cunning wordsmith, able to craft words into precision tools to do his bidding and he went in like a common bully, using blunt force attacks. Although, maybe he can use that to his advantage; she now thinks he can be goaded, and he can...but he knows he can. He is aware of his weakness, so might be able to reign it in a little. He hasn't faced anyone who knows of a weakness before, so this might very well get...interesting, to say the least.

"Good day, girl," he says, putting the newspaper on the table. "I have some good news for you." Let's try a new tact today, then.

All right, so it appears mutual that yesterday was, well.. Yesterday. If he was still on as big an edge as yesterday, I doubt there would have been such calmness in his voice towards me. In fact, I doubt he would have answered me at all. Still, I wanted to keep my distance until I knew where he would make things go today. If his intimidation plans were to be carried on today as well for whatever reason, I was at a comfortable distance. I didn’t need the size in body comparison that happened yesterday to repeat.

I stayed standing just in front of the doorway that opened up into his room, seeing as he was the table I usually stood by. “Good news? Regarding what exactly, Mr. Wilde?”

He doesn't answer for a moment or two, turning a page in the newspaper. He's read it already, but after months of boredom, you learn to work with what you have. Re-reading the newspaper a few times is preferable to just staring at the wall. He's pretty sure someone must have noticed it by now, but it seems their caution of him is outweighing their desire to follow the rules. Good to know. Of course, it could just be that no one has actually looked. That's also a strong possibility.

He looks up after a few moments. "I've decided to play your little game. For now," he says. And it's true; he will answer her questions, for a small price, although he can't exactly promise that they'll be truthful. He may have to act a little, maybe shed a few tears, but that will come much later. He has a grand plan in line for this one. "Your question-and-answer routine may not be the most original, but hey...I'll play. Anything you want to know. For a price, of course. First payment?" He laughs suddenly. "A bloody pen, so I can do the crossword!" He lets out a short, single syllable bark of laughter.

You know that feeling when you feel like your eyes are bulging right out of their sockets? Yea, try hiding that feeling while in my position, it’s not easy. He agreed? He doesn’t seem to thrilled about the idea of answering questions all day, which I’ll have to rethink now that I have an access to direct answers, but he’s agreed to the bargain set up. It worked! He got a small piece of the outside, and he damn well enjoyed it, that was clear. It could be the dumbest thing to flat out believe that he’ll cooperate, but it was too good to just start shooting down right this moment.

“I’m sorry my method of information isn’t that exciting to you, Mr. Wilde, but given your security system for a mind, there aren’t many options left. But anyways, I want to clear up a couple details; answers will be equal to price, and, the asking prices are reasonable and within my reach.. Losing my job would be, unbeneficial, to the both of us”

"That can work against you as well," he observes, "But I'll play, as I said before. First question, for the price of a pen, is...?" He trails off, closing the newspaper and looking at her expectantly. No question she is going to ask a rather probing question first, possibly the one she asked yesterday, and although he's going to answer, he won't neccissarily answer truthfully. Some he might tell the truth, just to keep her on her toes, but otherwise, he will decide when she asks whether or not to be truthful. After all, how will she tell if he's being dishonest? It's not like she has a profile on him with any important or compromising information in it.

Against me? What other nurse has even gotten this far with him? None, and what other nurse would give him what I’m offering? Although he doesn’t give a shit about me overall, he won’t do something to get me fired. Mr. Wilde wouldn’t just let me walk out with a canning, when he could keep me here and eat at my psyche, as he enjoys doing. I was safe there, as long as he stayed interested in tormenting me. “A pen is small.. So, the question I asked you yesterday, please. Just an age, then I'll get your pen, Mr. Wilde.”

A small smile escapes him- or seems to- and he looks up momentarily. He has no guarantee that she will hold up her end of the bargain, or that she can even get stuff in here. She will have to do better than that. It is unlikely that she will be able to exit and re-enter without arousing suspicion, however, so he settles for the next best thing. "I answer your questions, and you give me the price. If they aren't mine by the next day, I don't answer any more questions until I receive that payment. Clear?" He doesn't wait for an answer as he closes the newspaper and sets it on the desk in front of him. "My first experience with romance..." he thinks for a moment; that's a tough one. He guesses that an age won't hurt him, although maybe he should twist it a little, but the details could get useful for her. For now, though, an age is sufficiently harmless.
"I would say about 13," he says, smiling that smile of his that says 'if I'm not telling the truth, how could you tell?'. It is only a small twist of the truth; he had a one-week relationship with some girl, and experiment as it were, but he didn't get 'serious' with anyone until much later.

The one downside the bargaining strategy, which I’m only clueing into now was that the stronger, more detailed questions I’d hope to eventually ask, may be completely terminated. An ultimately useful question, which he would surely know if it was or not, would mean an extraordinary price. He could shoot it down all together, saying there was nothing I could get that would cover the cost.. It’s discouraging. I’d have to figure out a way to break the bigger questions into several little ones, piling them together for one conclusion once I had enough.. If I got enough, again, that meant a lot of prices to be paid. There would never be a perfect solution to getting into his mind, which was now very clear, especially with that demonic smile he’d flashed after answering

I nodded my head once to his answer, thinking of how I’d phrase specifically what I’d wanted to ask next, without making it seem to broad, “All right Mr. Wilde, what would it cost me to find out how long this relationship lasted, along with what drew you to and away from her specifically?”

Wilde effects a sharp intake of breath. The answers to those questions are more obvious in their worth; the length would help her work out not only how he deals with commitment, but also what his attention span is and how people reacted to him when he was younger. Doubtless what she means by the other one is 'what do you like in a woman' and 'why did it end and who ended it,' to try and figure out if he had a bad experience with relationships, or if he just gets bored of things, or if he's a bad judge of character...the list goes on.
His characteristic smirk returns. "It would cost...ooh...lets say some more reading material. Get me a novel of my choice to read in here, and I'll tell you why we got together."

A book. It was.. Less than what I had expected, seeing as smuggling a book wouldn’t be a bother with a coat to through over it. It could either be a blessing, or a hint that answering the question won’t be a struggle for him either. An odd thought, since you’d think an answer to those to be extremely useful.. But, there was the more realistic alternative explanation than ‘He’s just being nice’, which is he plans to lie. With a lie, he loses nothing and gains anything he wants.. Damnit.

“Deal,” Not that I have much of a choice, “what book would you like, Mr. Wilde? You’ll have it tomorrow morning when we’re scheduled again. The pen however, I’ll drop off quickly just before I leave in the evenings, most of the day shift nurses and doctors are gone by then anyways.”

He nods, and says without preamble, "Gathering Storm, by Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan," he puts the newspaper down on the table with a 'slap'. "It's part of the Wheel of Time series. Book 12. I read book 11 before my...incarceration...and the 12th and 13th book have been released recently. Be a dear and grab it for me," He smiles wickedly.
"Anyway..." He pauses, as if thinking. In reality, he knows exactly why they got together and exactly what he's going to say. There was a certain attraction there. She, despite her early years, was a beautiful thing- or is that Wilde's ego talking? So hard to remember sometimes, it was...another lifetime; that thought makes him smile more than a little wistfully, and a little ironically- with the lightest laugh you ever heard. She was kind, as far as 13 year old women go, and had a smile that had make his fool of a self smile back. He has no idea what attracted her to him- he didn't know then, and still hasn't puzzled it out; he'd never admit it without sufficient gain involved, though- but he knows that it was little more than her appearance and the fact that his 'friends' all had had relationships by that point. He probably won't tell her about the hair or the laugh, or the way her smile always cheered him up when he was down, before and after their relationship- before and after, for a time, they were still friends- or that her very presence made him smile, or why they ended it a week later; that would be giving her far too much. Best to allow her to think him a monster, without remorse; she can't harm him, that way. She can't harm him if she doesn't know him...but he will tell her about the pressure. Let her make of it what she will.

He continues, "...We got together because we felt we should. Plain and simple. I was a selfish, vain little bastard when I was younger," He lets out a cruel laugh, disguising the tiny, unnoticeable glint in his eye expertly, "does that fit into your psych evaluation?" He asks mockingly.

I could only roll my eyes and sigh in disappointment to how he’d answered. It was getting old, and it was getting old fast. I doubt any sane woman would have given a man of such spitefulness the time of day, even at 13. Ultimately, there was no way he was as cruel at that age as he claims to be, at least not as intensively as his expression makes it seem. If he was, and if the woman should she have a normal functioning brain, again, she’d have seen it easily. Mr. Wilde could have been the most devilish teenager even born, but the tone of that was light enough for her, whoever she was. And if he was hiding that, he was hiding something along with it, perhaps about him, or about her. If he expected me to just flat out by what he’d given me, he still takes me for an idiot and a fool. “You’ll have to do a bit better than that, Mr. Wilde. You also didn’t answer the other questions, as to why it ended and how long it lasted. You know you’re price will be paid, so answer them, please.”

He lets out a sharp bark of laughter; she must learn to listen more closely, or she will never get the answers she desires. He isn't going to answer the questions straight, so she must learn to read between the lines, and listen to his terms far better. "I think you will find, girl," he says contemptuously, "that I answered the question. I said that I would tell you why we got together in exchange for the book. I told you why. I would advise you to barter more carefully in future."

I suppose he had to regain his victory some how, and there it was. He did say that he’d tell me why they got together, and blindly I over looked his words. I’d have to remember that his skill with words are not just in how he talks about himself, but also how he talks all the time. It was an idiotic thing to not realize, and the mistake has cost me what I can’t afford to lose.

“Well done, Mr. Wilde.” I said, avoiding direct contact by facing towards the bottom of the table legs. I was angry, furious, and I had no clue how noticeable that would be to him. So looking away and appearing embarrassed, was better than looking angry and giving him that much more to gloat about. “Can I guess, that the 13th book of your series would get me the rest of the answers you tricked your way out of, or is it time I leave? Since without any information to gain, I don’t really serve a purpose being here.”

He chuckles; was that embarrassment he saw, or just feigned humiliation to disguise something else? This nurse doesn't make the same mistakes twice- usually- and she knows by now that it is probably a good idea to try and hide her real feelings from him. That congratulations did sound a little hollow, and her last comment was rather confrontational; not what Wilde expected at all, not from this one, who gets aggressive so rarely. Could be, she's trying to disguise anger or rage...so, she dislikes being tricked, or she hates him? Probably the former, if her attitude towards patients is anything like she said it is, and he's willing to bet on it.

"The thirteenth will earn you another one of those questions. I don't give away juicy morsels like that for free, and now that you have promised me the 12th, I could have some time before I need it. Take the offer while it stands," he says, smiling his perpetual smile. She lost a lot of bargaining power with that; the 12th book is big, so he understands, and will take him a while to read it, if he paces himself properly, which means his need for the 13th isn't dire...meaning he can set the price. Truth be told, this information- if phrased correctly- is useless to her...he loves being him.

“I don’t have much of a choice, do I?” I said, the obvious defeat of the situation in my voice. Part of me regretted saying it like that, but he knew it as well as I did, so it wasn’t anything new to him. It wasn’t so much that he’d been able to slip something past me again; it was that I let him do it so damn easily. Mistakes weren’t possible if I wanted to get anywhere, and with this one, it had only made him hold the upper hand even higher. Sticking to just the bargaining system for information, wasn’t promising. However, going back to the back and forth questions would be more dangerous for me. So, it’ll have to do for now unfortunately.

He laughs again, particularly at the note of resignation in her voice. Oh, part of that must be feigned, but considering she looks annoyed once she's said it, at least a little of it must be sincere. She's getting flustered, and he bets that this isn't how she imagined it going down, as it were. She expected to walk in and get everything she wanted for nothing! Well, he's here to disillusion her of that.
"Which one?" He asks, "The choice is yours. I'm feeling generous," he laughs again.

OOC- OH. Then I take full credit xD

    BIC-
Which one was a good question.. One of the two he didn't answer I wouldn't get for some time, because he'd labelled the price on it his other book. So, which could I ask for right now, that I can hope he'll put a price on for something he wants a lot sooner? Why they ended.. He may just give me another flat response, no, I knew he'd just give me another one. The other about what drew them together specifically.. Although I couldn't think of it right now, he probably had an answer that would worm his way out of that as well. What's even worse about that one, is if he does do that, and I ask 'Why?' for him to explain it further, there's another bloody price to deal with. So, which flat out answer would do more in comparison to each other?

"What drew you to her specifically? - That one."

    ooc: Lol

    Ic:

Wilde smiles cruelly. "I thought I told you already, but so be it," he says, "they're your questions," he shrugs nonchalantly. He won't tell her the specifics, but he will give her one of the reasons. She never specified what type of reason, after all, and he's only lying by omission.
"As I said, girl," he says, leaning back, "Neither of us had had relationships before, and we felt pressured into it by our friends. Oh, it was fun enough, for the week it lasted."

OOC- .. Oh that’s infuriating.. I was reading a previous post and.. And wrote pretty much what I read, instead of a different question.. Well, that’s a piss off -_-“ So, not so much ‘Kristie’ being a dumbshit, as it was me -_-“

    BIC-

Today was shit. Plain and simple, no further explanations.. It was shit. Yea, okay, I got a bit more out of him about his relationship with whoever, but it also meant I destroyed my chances of getting one of the other ones. I was beginning to feel as stupid as he made me out to be when I first met him.. I need to leave.. Now.

“Even if it was the question was similar, Mr. Wilde,” I paused to bring up my wrist, and look at my watch; it wasn’t time to go, but like a man with no clock can tell, “it was a far better answer in comparison to your last, so it wasn’t a total loss.” Lie, it was a completely loss, “Anyhow, it’s time I go to my next patient. I leave at 7, and it’s 11:30 now, so I’ll pop in before I go with your pen, as promised. Enjoy your day, Mr. Wilde.” As fast as I wanted to leave, I couldn’t look like the scared little nurse, an image I’ve been pelted with since I got here – Just because of him. So, as slowly, and as calmly as I could make my feet walk, I left the room without listening for a sarcastic or scornful farewell from Mr. Wilde. I’d had enough of him today.

ooc: Lmao...it's alright. Normally, my characters wouldn't really pay any attention, but with Wilde I'm having fun picking apart your posts and not getting into to trouble for it. XD

    Ic:

Wilde might be having trouble keeping track of time in here, but this visit seems to be significantly shorter than other ones; either she has no questions, no way to pay for it or...he smiles to himself. Or he's won this round, and she wants to get out before she gets visibly angry or sad. What she doesn't realise is that suddenly cooling like that, suddenly going calm and quiet and frosty tells him more than a tear ever would; he knows he's getting under her skin, knows she's getting wound up and wishes to leave with 'good grace' to deprive him of the satisfaction. Pah!

"Goodbye, girl...see you tomorrow..." he says quietly. Even in that quiet, he sounds contemptuous.

I was making my way to the main desk near the lounging room, where group sessions would be held, and where the medicine was sorted and brought out from behind a gated door with a lock and key. It was also where nurses and doctors would clock out and be put into the system for just how long they worked, along with where the keys to each of the rooms were kept. You would think the doctors would hold onto them in their office, but a wooden door and simple lock wasn't as safe as the metal drawers. It was 7:35 by my watch, so I'd be late due to a patient I'd just come from that took longer then ever expected. She was nothing special, just a violent SOB who wouldn't sit still long enough for me to get a word in. A new patient as of yesterday as well - My luck just keeps coming.

"Leaving finally?" The night nurse who watched the counter, Darlene asked me as I got to the desk.
"Well, actually.." I started in a whining voice, "I left something in a patient's room this morning, and haven't had a chance to get it.. Think you could lend me the key?" She raised an eyebrow, like she knew I was lying to her, but would keep it a secret for the time being. Darlene and I bonded the day we got here from loving a similar activity; annoying Karl.
"Which patient?" She asked, unlocking the drawer to where the keys were kept, all in individual bags with room numbers and names.
"Mr. Wilde.." I said anxiously. She stopped rummaging and looked up, this time like I was going to do something stupid - She was half right I suppose.
"You know it pisses him off that you continue your sessions with him.." She looked away from me, shaking her head and lifting out the key in front of her face.
"It's half the reason I do it," I took the key and hid it in my coat so any doctor I passed wouldn't see me with it, "I'll be back in a minute." I could hear her mumble something else as I began to leave, but I didn't have the time to stop and ask what she said.

I knew there would be other doctors and nurses around this time of night; the night staff, people cleaning up after the meals, medication and so on. But I also knew that since Mr. Wilde didn't take the morning medication, he wouldn't be bothered with the ones in the evenings. So I had no worries about if someone else should be in his room. As I was only a nurse, I wasn't permitted inside a patient's room other than when I'm scheduled. Once I got to his hallway, I took off my heals, carried them in my hands and quickly walked to his door in bare feet - They barely make a sound on tiled floors. Before anyone could walk down here or leave a patient's room with me standing here, I took out the key, unlocked the door and opened it only far enough for me to slid in so it wouldn't have a long ways to close. I slowly, manually shut it with the hand that had the key, and waited there. "Please be asleep.." I was thinking in my head, looking at the door still and away from the direction of the room to see if someone had seen me and would come knocking. All this, for a bloody pen.

Wilde's been waiting for the girl for most of the day, staring at either the walls or the ceiling as he does every day, thinking. Thinking about life in here, life out here, how he's going to use the girl to his advantage, how he might dispose of her afterwards...what he's going to get for lunch tomorrow. You know, the usual. He looked once more at the newspaper, and stooped so low as reading the Archies- he was hooked once before, and only just managed to put them down- but in the end, all that's left to do is think.
They turn the lights in the room out at around 7:30, expecting most patients to go to sleep- or at least stay quiet- and turn them on at about 8:00 in the morning. Not that Wilde minds; it's nice to get some sleep, after all, and there's precious little else to do.

However, he did start wondering if the girl intended in keeping her word. Maybe she got caught? Maybe she forgot, or maybe something happened to her...he feels a little...what do they call it...disappointed at that thought; after all, who's he going to play with if she got sacked or killed or injured?
He needn't have worried, though; before long, he can hear a key in the door. He swings himself off of his bed silently, standing up in the gloom. The room is almost pitch black, save for a little light spilling into the room from the corridor, and he moves silent and invisible in the darkness. He circles around her for a moment, then when it becomes apparent that she is not going to turn around soon, he smiles and steps forwards, appearing next to her, almost touching her shoulder with his.

"Hello, girl," He whispers, "A little bit of a strange place to hide, in the den of a madman..." He snickers.

OOC- Sorry for the delay, I was swamped with English and preparing for UN.

    BIC-
I couldn't decide what at that moment was more terrifying; the knowledge that he was about an inch or two from me, or that surprise in general of his presence. It would figure, that of all patients he would be the one to still be awake at this hour. When he first said something, I let a loud, deep gasp of surprise, my upper arms and shoulders all locking into the place from the cold, vibrating shiver that crept all down my back. Like his voice was the thing crawling down it, and the sound waves were causing the vibration. The unease in my body just got worse and worse, knowing he was still right there beside me. The feeling I'd gotten from him standing near me in the middle of the day, was nothing compared to how I felt about him being this close, in the dark where I could barely see, and no one except Darlene aware of where I am. It was contradictory, if you remember me saying no doctor or nurse can be afraid or scared of a patient, only intimidated. Well, I was eating my words right now, because I was so frightened, most of my muscles had practically paralyzed. As much as I tried to move just a couple inches away, I couldn't.

"Was that completely necessary?" I asked in a whisper back to him, imitating how he'd startled me. I still didn't move, but I guess being this close to the door wasn't at all bad - It would be something to pound on for help if I needed it. Slowly, unlocking my arms and hand I reached into my pocket, pulled out the blue pen I had stored away and stretched it over to where he was standing. "I'm sorry for the lateness. A patient kept me longer than I hoped for."
