A lonely new start

It's new years eve
and once again i'm alone
without anyone here.

I'm sitting on my roof
waiting for the fireworks
that signal a new year.

I laugh to myself
as I think of all the memories
and all the great times.

But I wish I had some here
to share these memories with
as this past year is left behind.

No lover to make the night romantic,
no friend to keep me company,
Not even the family I call my own.

No one is here with me
and that's all I want;
it just hurts to be all alone.

The countdown has started
and I imagine everyone cheering
as they drop the new years ball.

I can't take this lonely feeling
and as the ball drops
my own tears begin to fall.

I can see fireworks glow,
they sparkle in the night
of a brand new year.

And once again I'm alone
On a morning meant to be shared
with someone other than a tear.

*cries a bit*

I am exactly like this, alone on new years when my friends and kissing their boyfriends or girlfriends while I am just standing there, wishing new years would be over :/

Im with Lacey on this one o.o Its sad. But it seems to have this... relieved feeling to it =\ Like the reader is glad that it was a realization. Im not sure... but thats just how I interpret it.

hmm...this ones new to me. we used to share so much work with each other...how the times change. good job, i like it, even though i guess it's probably not a good thing to like that due to the feeling, but yea.

That is really sad. I hate feeling alone when there are a bunch of people around me. on new years that is just cruel. :'(
