He gets a phone call,
its from the police.
my brother's in trouble
yet again.
My brother...
He thinks two steps ahead,
and disappears into the night.
He's the smart one,
he gets away.
My mother...
Already dying from stress,
she decides to block it out.
She doesn't hear the yelling,
or see the fists flying.
My father...
blinded, controled by rage,
grabs whatever's within reach.
He throws it, breaks it down
till it can't stand.
My brother...
He always gets away,
never punished.
He leaves his sister alone
and doesn't look back.
My mother...
She's disappeared too,
she can't take it.
She'll leave it all behind
and denies every last thing.
My family...
Abusive father,
Troubled son,
Dying mother,
and a daughter...
who was within reach.
