White Fang: Semi-Realistic Wolf Pack

The Lone Lands stretched across the map, a desert of barron wasteland. Few could survive in the heat for too long, and food was scarce in this region. Various oasis lay in pools dotted around the Lone Lands where the travelling could drink their fill. Many lay around the edge of the desert where the tree line began to provide shelter. Vegetation grew in masses here, and prey resided in burrows. The wanderers made dens in these trees, safe from the harsh winds and the scorching desert heat, where they could feed off the rodents, deer, or boar, using the oasis locations as their markers. Many didn't stay here long, and the lost had little chance to find home.

Further into the forest, a packland spread. The trees were shelter, with a river meandering through the land. A clearing was strewn with bones and twigs; the leftovers from a feast or the playthings of whelps. Dens were dug around this clearing; home to the pack. Guardians prowled the edges of the packland watching for intruders, leading them to the Alphas, or else reporting news of what lay beyond in the Lone Lands. Hunters rand through the trees in groups, scanning the wasteland and ambushing the oasis regions for prey. The thrill was in the chase, the reward was in the capture. Whelps yipped and played, chasing their tails or gnawing on sticks. These pups would grow into fine wolves, protecting and maintaining the land, gathering food or medical plant-life. The Alpha's took charge of the pack, watching over the betas and leading the way of the wolf. No man knew of this world.

Before this paradise would come about, one lone wolf wandered the area. She was alone in her treck, but others were soon to follow.

Her paws padded the soft ground as she walked in a direction that lead to an unknown destination. Kiaki's fur shivered in the breeze, chills of anticipation danced along her spine, and her head was bowed as she walked. The land was bare and resources scarce. Her stomach gave an unpleasant growl and longed for food, but as Kiaki twisted her head to look around, there was not much to sustain her. However, this didn't bother her too much, as she had grown used to the independent life. After her mother's death and her father's disappearance, she was forced to tread outside of her boundaries and venture into the unknown. The horizon never neared, so this land was not a form of abyss, but Kiaki was yet to cross paths with another animal of her nature. Small ferrets and hare waited in the shadows, and the occasional screech of a hunting bird could be heard from overhead. Fear failed to penetrate her, yet her lonliness forever grew.

A forest stood just yards ahead and Kiaki approached it, lifting her front paw to scratch at the alpine bark of the nearest tree. Flakes of debris shredded from the trunk as her claws did harm. Kiaki dug around the roots, kicking up dirt and moss from behind her, hoping to find some source of food. It had been too long since she had passed by an elk or moose, and hunting alone proved to be near impossible. Her tongue was dry from her panting and her teeth grew numb in the dry air. She whimpered for the first time in days, a light squeak issued from her dry lips. Her tongue reached up to wet her nose and felt pain as it cracked from her touch. She needed to find food, and fast. But appart from nourishment, she longed to find company.

Her ears twitched at the sound of a a light hum. It seemed to differ from the surrounding winds. Kiaki trotted forwards towards the source of the noise, and as she neared, the sound became more distinctive. Rushing water. The sound hit her auds and they twitched, trying to locate the direction of the water. Excitement filled her, for soon she would feel the cool rush of liquid quenching her thirst, and where there was water, there were probably rodents or other canids nearby. Kiaki began to run, and soon she came across a stream filled with rocks and floating moss. Glacial water danced along, meandering as it went and creating white foam as it splashed against the smooth surface of the stones and boulders. Kiaki lowered her muzzle to the icy liquid and drank greedily, lapping up the water and allowing it to splash on her face, the water droplets stuck to her fur and she shook them off.

Once she had had her fill, Kiaki looked around. This place seemed cozy and could deem a good shelter. She was still brutally hungry, but her hunt would have to wait until later. Shelter form the chilly winds was compulsory. A bat flew overhead and Kiaki's eyes followed it greedily. Hunting would have to wait until later. Laying her scent on the nearby trees, she marked the region as her own territory and began to create a small den, just wide enough to fit her curled body as she slept. Tomorrow was a new day, and tomorrow, she would feast.

Any more questions, ask me ^.^ Despite all of the information, you should have a lot of freedom in this roleplay. It's one of the only ones you can have more than one character, your character can act as he/she likes (as long as it sticks to the rules), and your character can have any personality or appearance (please be realistic) you wish. The only plot as of now will be to get this pack started. If the role-play survives, I'll introduce a new one later. You don't have to start off with all your characters in the beginning. Introduce them (with bio) as time goes on, just remember to not abandon any.

This roleplay is a semi-realistic wolf pack roleplay. This means:

~Your character(s) (You can have a max of 3, but if you have more than one character, please post them with their own font colours of your choice) are wolves of any breed (I accept wild dogs, as long as they are pack animals).

~You stick to a realistic appearance and actions. For example, your wolf cannot have purple fur, and cannot fly. Your wolves will not always win fights, and if they do a lot of running, they will get tired. If your wolf does die, you can come right back with a new one!

~They have no fantasy abilities.

~Pups can and will age into adolescent, then adult wolves. Elders will eventually pass away, but you don't have to age your adult wolf if you won't want to.

~Canines cannot flip their paws so their palms face up, and they cannot rotate their shoulder's 360 degrees like humans can.

~Canines do not sweat, they pant. They also cannot physically cry.

~Wolves can fight, and it can get quite nasty. Don't be afraid to let your wolf die, and ask permission before killing someone else's character.

However, this is not fully realistic. This is SEMI-realistic. Your character(s) can show human emotions, unlike real wolves, and they can also communicate with each other. This means they can talk or have direct speech. Please don't howl just for the sake of howling. Howling is a warning, but only do it once (I mean like... "howl" not "Howl howl howl"), but it can also mean a presence into the pack, so if you are from another pack and enter this one, howling is your presence.)

Your character will start off either finding Kiaki and joining her pack, or wandering around the Lone Lands being... well, a loner. If your character does join the pack, Kiaki will give them a rank, or you can request one by either asking OOC or your character can ask Kiaki. If you want your character to be a lone wolf, then you can decide whether they are an enemy of the pack, or an outside friend. Lone Wolves cannot enter the pack territory without permission, is not entitled to their food or medical plants, and cannot mate (marry, date, whatever) with wolves of the pack. They can decide to join the pack later if they wish. If you wish your character to be Alpha, they have to:

a) Be a wolf, not any wild dog
b) Be MALE!
c) Be either the first male to find Kiaki's territory, or a male who wishes to mate with her (this doesn't mean the dirty stuff, just like... dating or marriage).

This role-play has basic rules. Be nice, don't ignore others, try to write at least a paragraph with every post, obey AMX rules, and have fun ^.^

Descent: Fenris comes from a family of abnormally large, snow white wolves who usually only travel in family units.

Persona: Fenris is a solitary wolf, preferring his own company to that of other wolves. He hunts and kills on his own agenda, and frequently runs off other, small packs if game is scarce, even though he prefers the thrill of hunting his own food. He sometimes gets into fights with other wolves, and has marks all over his body from wounds taken in these fights. However, many of these are deliberate; he allows every enemy to mark him once before finishing them off. Fenris rarely speaks or makes any noise at all, appearing and disappearing seemingly instantaneously, despite his unusual colour. He is light on his feet, and although large, he doesn't fight unless he has to. He used to have a partner, Nymeria, and two sisters, but they fell foul of a large wolf pack 3 years ago. Fenris fought, but was knocked off of a cliff into a fast-flowing river by the Alpha of that pack. By the time he found his way back, his sisters [Kyry and Lyria] were dead on the ground, and Nymeria was nowhere to be seen, save for a bloody splatter near the same cliff that he was knocked off. Fenris has spent the past three years hunting down the pack that killed her, picking off the members one by one until now, when only two remain...and the Alpha.

Weighs: I have no clue how to even begin answering that...does it really matter? I'll just say heavy. Imagine how big a 6 foot tall, fully grown wolf is...

Form: Snow white fur runs uninterrupted along the entire length of his body, save for the odd area where a particularly nasty scar crosses the fur line. His face has more scars visible than anywhere else, one running horizontally across his nose, one running down and through his eye- it narrowly avoided damaging his eye- and another one at the base of his right ear. His legs are compared to his body, relatively graceful, being able to move almost silently despite his great weight. He is larger than most other wolves, and part of his left ear has been bitten off.

Oh, and Murdoch, 3 feet is actually small for a wild wolf, but it's up to you. Average is about 4.5-5 feet at the shoulder.

Build: Slender with slight muscles, but not enough to be a strong hunter. She is 4'2" at the shoulder and weighs 104lbs


Personality: Intelligent. Introverted. She is strong in both mind and heart, but she is small and not the best in fight. She's a fast runner, and has just enough strength to take down a hunt alone, but not often.
Motto: True strength is in your heart, soul, and mind. Not in the muscles that you carry.
Background: Kiaki doesn't remember most of her family. She isn't too sure what happened. Perhaps they were killed, or they simply abandoned her. She does, however, remember her older brother, Saxon, but they became separated when she was still a pup. She is alone and wandering, hoping to find some sort of pack, but she has grown with her independence the last few years. She feels as though she might not actually belong anywhere. But she keeps looking and keeps wishing. Her scars, mentally and physically have become a part of her, and although she is dark and alone, she has managed to keep her soft side.

Well, regardless, my wolf is middle-agedish...and alright, Fenris is about 5.5-6 feet tall...

So you enter your pet into mock battles with other people, and you can buy extra parts for your pet to help them, that also shows up on your pets picture? Life Story: Was born on the prairie land into a small pack, his sire and dam were the Alpha Male and Female, but at the age of about 8 months when his parents were out hunting rabbits 3/4 human hunters came, looking for wolf pelts, the Omega, and all Akis siblings were killed. Aki escaped by in a small hollow under a fallen tree.

Aki must have stayed hidden for at least 5 hours before he wandered off away from the den in search of his parents or other wolves. He doesn't know how he survived.

Personality: Faolan is very meditative. He's loyal to his pack, but he will often wander off alone for long periods of time. When he's with his pack he will often wrestle with the other cubs, despite never winning, he enjoys the thrill of the game.

Background: Fao's father, Chaos, was a cross between a grey wolf and a husky. Chaos left Fao's mother, Silvea, in the night after they mated. At the time Silvea's whole pack spent two days looking for Chaos, but were unsuccessful. So Fao was raised solely by his mother. Silvea taught Fao to fish, but she was a poor hunter. So Faolan grew up smaller than most cubs, on a mostly fish diet. Fao inherited the stealth instinct from his father, and by the age of 1 he could already escape from his mother at any time that he wanted to. However he would never leave her for more than a couple of days. One time, while Fao was away on his outing, (at age 2), he returned to find that his mother had been raped and killed. After a day and night of howling and mourning Fao began searching for a pack for protection and support. However most packs will not accept him for long as he is more of a burden than a help due to his young age and poor hunting skills.
