Starting Over (Capri & Asher)

First topic message reminder :

Girl: Capri

Setting:
Your history: You've lived in (insert town name here) all your life and grew up with everyone in it, along with your pretty large family. You've always been quiet, but you used to have a goofy side to you. You work at the local bike shop as the manager. You used to ride yourself, compete and everything, had sponsors, you were quite the big deal as well as your best friend (insert friends name here). Until one day after a party on your way home you got in a car accident killing (Insert same friends name here). Since then you've been walking around with a cloud over your head and you became an insomniac.
My history: I just graduated from school and decided I couldn't take my mother anymore so I ventured out to see my dad, his new wife and newborn daughter. I wasn't looking forward to it, in fact I only came on impulse. But all my life I've been forced to study, study, study. There was no time for parties, friends and all that fun stuff. My parents divorce hit me the wrong way messing up my sleep pattern with their late night fighting, so I am too an insomniac.
Story: So I'm new to town and landed a job at my step-moms boutique on the boardwalk right next to the bike shop. It's late at night long after the boardwalk has cleared and I'm out for a stroll when we meet. Will the stories unfold? Will you show me around town? Who knows what this summer has in store for the both of us as two loners venture out on a quest to give a second chance at a deserved childhood.

I grabbed Capri's empty plate and dispose of it. I washed my hands then walked up to Capri, and leaned against the counter as I looked into her eyes. "I want you to stay." My face flushed with bright red and I smiled a little as I looked up. "I don't have much to do, and I would love your company."

I smiled. Truly. Brightly, and big. And I just couldn't help it. Ever since the accident, I'd had trouble talking to people. I used to have a bunch of friends, but they all avoided me towards the end of the school year. And now that high school is over, they probably wouldn't think of me twice. Sure, I get a text message here or there. That seems to be the only way people like to communicate with me now-a-days. And to think, I'd just met this kid. On a boardwalk. At two in the morning.

"I'm totally down for staying here. What time is it?" I asked, with a blink of my amber eyes. I had to be at the shop around eight, but it was still dark outside. And, as usual, I wasn't tired at all.

I smiled when she smiled and I felt butterflies infesting my stomach. I was excited. I had finally made a friend. In my whole high school career, all I ever focused on was my studies, I never had time to meet people. But now that I'm living out on my own practically, I have time for everything and anything I want, and at this moment that was Capri.

I looked at my cellphone then back up. "3:45." I said to her then put my phone away. "What time do you have to be home? Or at the store?" I asked, shoving my phone in my back pocket.

With a shrug, "It doesn't really matter. As long as i'm at the shop by eight. And I usually stop by my house to change first. My parents are always at work by the time I walk in." And it was true. They'd seemed to lose all hope in me. But that was fine, I can't be around them forever.

"Good. I'm not ready to let you go just yet." I said with a smile, as I put my hand in hers and started to guided her to my basement. "We have sort of a home theater." I said, going down the stairs and flicking on the lights. I get to the bottom of the stairs and gently let go, put my hands up and smile, "Ta-dah!" I laugh. "Whaddya think?" I ask looking back at her, putting my arms down.

My stomach had leapt when he'd grabbed my hand and pulled me down the stairs. But now he let go. I wiped the momentarily confused look off of my face and looked around. This place is nice.

"You'd be surprised." I said looking back at her. I walked to the shelf of movies we had. 5 shelves and they were all full of horror, comedy, romance, action, thriller/suspense, adventure and more. "So, what kinda of movie do you want to watch?" I asked looking back at her.

"Agreed." I take it off the shelf and take the DVD out of it's case and pop it into the DVD player. "I'll be right back. Going to get popcorn and drinks." I say before running upstairs into the kitchen. I get us each two drinks and make 4 bags of popcorn into one large bowl.

I come back down with a big blanket draped over my shoulders like a cape with it in my mouth so I could hold on to it, while also holding four Gatorades in one hand and a big bowl of popcorn in the other. "Helf eeh." I mumbled through the blanket as I reached the bottom of the stairs.

Smiling in return, I reached my hand into the bowl as the movie started, my eyes on the screen. But that's when my hand brushed his. For the second time tonight. That zapping sensation. Pulling my hand back a little, I kept my eyes glued to the TV. My nerves were shot.
