Arcana and Noctrem Academy... World's Collide

Arcana Academy and Noctrem Academy are polar opposites – Arcana encourages and inspires students to be the very best that they can be, and to use their supernatural abilities to help those in need, to save those who need saving, and to just be amazing citizens. Noctrem on the other hand drives their students to be the worst they can be – terrorizing the citizens, scaring those around them, and causing trouble wherever possible. The two Academies have always been rivals, and only interact with each other during sporting events, or the annual tournament, to determine which school is the best. Every year, the winner from each school changes, so no real answer has been determined since the tournaments began three hundred years ago.

Last month, Noctrem was set alight by someone in a black, hooded jacket, hiding their face. No-one was able to determine who this criminal was, but the fire burnt down the entire school, and resulted in three deaths – one teacher and two students. With the students who decided to carry on with their studies after the destruction of their school, it has been decided that they will go to Arcana, and study with those “goodie-two-shoes” they hate so much. They will bunk there, eat there, and study there – but how will those from Arcana accept these enemies?

History: I don't want too much detail, but we need information on your childhood, how you first found out about your power, how you decided whether to be good or bad, and then how you came to the school. So, three good sized paragraphs, I think?

Rules

2. You may need to do some research on your character's power, or class if they're a teacher.
3. I may ask you to play another character if the ratio's start to out-weigh each other, so be warned. Only join if you'd be willing to do this, please.
4. To make sure you've read these, please say "Hi Mercy!" when you ask to reserve a character. If you don't, I'll assume you haven't read the rules. Also, post on the OOC if you want to reserve, not via PM, please. It confuses everyone.
5. If you're not going to be online to post, please say. I'd be really irritated if you didn't.
6. You can change your face claim/power if there's a severe issue, but PM me about it first.
7. When we have the characters, I shall be creating a relationship thread to help us get an insight into how our characters feel about each other.
8. I am asking for literate roleplayers, meaning that to join, I'd like you to be able to post at least 500 words for a post, on average. If not, I don't think you'd work well here, so sorry.
9. There will be swearing, probable violence and everything else in this, so be warned.

Maxwell was very well aware of the Arcana students who had come out to what their arrival. If anything he was glad that they had so that they would have a chance to see those who they were very quickly going to learn to watch out for. Addi and him were among the few that they needed to be especially careful around.

"Oh they're going to have a very interesting next few months, that's for sure." He replied to her statement with a smile as he let his gaze travel across the curious faces of those who were observing them from afar. Very few of the students actually came over to speak to the new arrivals and for good reason too. Most of the Noctrem students were not very happy with the thought of being thrown into Arcana.

As another Noctrem student came up, who went by the name of Jade, the Puppeteer glanced down at the small figure on his shoulder. She was looking over at the Arcana students with a strange expression of curiosity on face. He waited for her to notice that he was looking at her before he spoke.
"Well?"
She shook her head and he laughed at the secret meaning of her gesture. That was a true shame.

Addi decided that she had stood around long enough and pushed away from the wall, drawing a rolled cigarette out of her pocket. The contents were not something that Maxwell nor his small friend wanted to even think about. So he let her slip away with a nod of his head as she shot a belated greeting over her shoulder. With a shake of his head and an amused smile on his lips he wondered what kind of trouble she was going to be getting herself into.

He had been so distracted by his thoughts that he did not notice the approach of an Arcana student.
"Hey, Noctrem kid, what's your name?" He asked while looking the Puppeteer up and down questioningly. The student clearly had no idea who he was talking to or what danger he was in for approaching Max with such a cocky attitude.
"I would be more inclined to reply if you asked nicely." He replied simply much to the displeasure of the student.

"Just answer the damn question!
Maxwell tilted his head slightly with a look of disappointment on his face. As he shook his head he made a quick motion with his wrist and brought his hand up to where the student could see it.
"You should have asked nicely..now walk over there and come back when you're ready to be more polite." He spoke as if he were scolding a child however with every other word he forced the helpless student to turn and take a step away from him.
The poor nameless Arcana student ended up walking straight into a wall before the Puppeteer broke the strings and allowed him his free will back.
Needless to say he did not return.

Danny watched as students began to stumble out of the bus, his face indifferent, but he was very curious about these students. He took another bite out of his apple and inspected the students. A girl came storming out of the bus, screaming. He couldn't hear every word she had said, but it was clear that she wasn't happy with the situation she was put in. It was obvious though, none of us where happy with this situation, and with all the powers we had, things would escalate very quickly. Danny swung one leg over the ledge he was sitting on as he noticed more people from Arcana coming to the front to see the new guest. Rivals or not, curious is curious.

It was then that Danny noticed a first year named Austin walking towards the Noctrem students. He was one of the few first years who was actually cocky coming into the school. It wasn't unusual, but it is uncommon at this school. He walked up to one of the Noctrem students. There was an exchange, something that Danny clearly couldn't hear, but before long Danny watched Austin walk back towards Arcana and into it. A couple of the Arcana students laughed, not really sure why Austin had done what he had, but Danny focused on the boy Austin talked too. Danny's eyes narrowed as he examined the boy. He put his hand back down to his side which struck Danny has odd. Why was his hand up in the first place if Austin had walked back so casually? It was clear that he had done something to Austin. Exactly what he had done, Danny wasn't sure, but it was something.

Looking at this watch, Danny realized his had a couple of minutes left to make it to his first lecture. It was a history class, not the most interesting (as some people would say) but Danny found it fascinating. Besides, it was mandatory to take "practical" courses too. You won't always make it through life with just your powers, so math, science, history, (the like) were to be taken to round the students off and really give them a chance in the real world. It was unclear if Noctrem did the same, but its how things works here at Arcana. Rising from his spot Danny took one last look at his new fellow students (especially the boy who affected Austin) and headed for class.
