Medieval Era RP! (Helena Castanova && Lucio Giordano)

I want to do a medieval/ renaissance type roleplay. But i'm not really sure the setting though. Kind of thought that we could possibly figure it out together. If any gentelmen would be so kind and join the roleplay with me.

"Curse you, stubborn girl," Lucio shouted, pointing the tip of his rapier at her. "If you believe I will even think twice about coming back to save you, you are bloody mistaken." Lucio stormed off but stopped a few yards further again and lowered his head. His hair was shagging in his face, clinging to his wet skin. He slowly turned his head again, and shouted. "I will help defend your home, but I will not die for it. If the gate falls, I will come back with horses."

And with that, he turned and ran after Luca.

Lucio slowed his steps as he approach the castle again. Here, on the back side, the walls were higher, and lucky for them, the terrain did not make for easy access points for the attackers. They kept focusing their assault on the main gate. The flames flickered high into the night skies, painting the clouds in a heavy red shimmer.

He was looking around for the old knight, but he must have either run too far ahead, or must have known about a secret sortie to enter the back of the castle. "Curse him and that fool woman," Lucio thought as he debated his next move. Despite the hear, he was shivering. He was not sure whether he should have left the girl behind. "Well, you wanted an adventure," he said to himself.

Then he saw movement between the trees. He could make out five lightly armored figures slowly moving in on him. "Blood and bones," Lucio cursed. "They are trying to find a way in through the back." Then they spotted him, and Lucio braced for the attack.

Lucio was visibly annoyed at Helena's remark. "Shooting someone in the back is easy, young lady," he barked back, "but facing your enemy up close, when you can smell his sweat and taste his blood, that is a different story."

He positioned himself into a crouching stance, trying to read the movements of their enemies. Helena was standing close to him, and he feared the wrong moves would injure the girl, but his pride got the better of him. In an instant, his rapier seemed to explode. With a quick side step, and a sharp upward thrust, he pierced the first attackers throat. As he pulled out his blade, Lucio was already on the move again, rolled toward the second man and ended his life with a quick jab right under the right armpit. Both men collapsed simultaneously.

As he was wiping his blade on the dead man, he looked over to Helena and said, "See, no need for saving, young lady." He was lost for a moment looking at her, trying to read her thoughts, but finally gave up and said. " Well, what does your noble highness suggest we do now, since you seem to have all the answers."

This Helena was definitely not like the women at is court, Lucio had to admit. He wiped a rogue strain of hair out of his face and finally sheathed his rapier. "Nonsense, I train daily with more able men than these. One, five, or ten...it matters not." Although he still could not shake the feeling that Helena was not as gullible as the young girls at father's dance. Definitely not as gullible, he thought to himself.

With both fists planted on his hips, he analyzed the situation. "Two bodies will not tip the scale for your father, my dear. But the assistance of a regiment of knights can bring the wind of change."

He looked about the area for the wild horses she spoke of. "So bow and arrow, knives, and wild horses." Lucio chuckled. "I'd place a wager your dear father must think he has a boy for a daughter."

Lucio noticed the long stare, and the sad look in Helena's eyes. He meant to reply with what she wanted to hear. He supposed it wouldn't hurt to...no, he was still a Giordano and..."A Giordano does not give thanks, young lady," he said straightening his back. "A Giordano demands and people follow." The instant he said the words, Lucio regretted them and awkwardly fought that same stray strain of hair again. He quickly kept talking.

"The wild horses it is. We will not make it back over the castle walls from here and we certainly will not be able to breach the enemies defense line."

Lucio felt a surge of anger creeping up, but swallowed in back in respect of their immediate situation. He took a deep breath, and said quietly: "A blood line must demand respect lest it becomes obsolete; your father should have taught you that." Lucio made a wide sweeping motion with his hand. "It matters not. We need to attend to the task at hand. Let's catch us some horses and not waste any more time."

"Who wants flies anyway," Lucio huffed under his breath, and slumped down in the damp grass, leaving Helena to her duty of choice. He started ripping blades of grass out of the ground, watching her as she walked off into the clearing.

He could not help but thinking of his father now. What would he do, with his high-and-mighty teachings. "I tell you what he would do. He would have died in his sleep during the attack," Lucio hissed quietly. Compassion had no place in a lord's life, and he needed to stay his course no matter what his father said. The mere fact that he followed his instincts and escaped the castle before the attack was proof enough.

He stood up, leaving his thoughts behind, wondering whether Helena had any success.

OOC: Ah, the decisions. I am not sure if you want me to disturb the horse or not

Lucio spotted Helena standing in the middle of the meadow. The flicker of the far-away fire could barely be seen here, but yet, it glazed her, the horse and the meadow with a soft red tinge. The pale moon fought for its dominion, shooting its clear rays through the tree tops, and for a moment he felt a deep calm despite his inner turmoil.

He slowly took a step forward, but stopped immediately as if every move he would make would break this enchanting scene. He breathed slowly and instead waited for Helena to finish her task. She seemed an able girl, and the short time he knew her had at least given him a somewhat good impression of her character. She seemed confident, almost over-confident, so much as if she had to prove herself in every situation. He did not understand why she was fighting being a true lady, but yet again, he was fighting his role in the world as well...and if he was honest with himself, he did want to see if the young lady could put her words into action.

Lucio slowly walked in Helena's direction. She had picked out quite the beauty. Once their little adventure was over, this would make a fine horse for a fox hunt, Lucio thought to himself. His father had had one just like it when Lucio was younger, a stallion however, strong and fast. Lucio had taken it out to go jumping one morning when he was still a young boy, without permission mind you. One jump had proven too much for the horse, and it broke its front ankle. His father eventually had to put the stallion to the sword. Lucio wasn't sure which memory was worse, that of the dead horse, or the scolding he had to endure by his father.

When Helena was close, Lucio said with a grin: "One for the two of us? You must think me more than a gentleman than I actually am, m'lady."

Lucio smile got even wider. "Well, m'lady. I trust that your riding skills are as strong as your will, for Lucio Giordano does not walk." He shook back his hair with a quick jerk of his head and continued. "However, I must warn you that I will have to hold on to you lest I be thrown off this marvelous beast. Would you not feel more comfortable riding behind?"

Lucio nodded contently. "As you wish, m'lady." With one jump, he slid onto the horse behind her. Helena was small, but she seemed to have good control of the animal. He leaned over and said, "Ride on, young lady. I will keep both eyes peeled to the forest to avoid surprises."

And with that, he held on to Helena and motioned to be ready.

The horse was speedy, Lucio had to give that much to Helena. The trees sped past them as they flew to the East. Lucio turned back his head, trying to catch a glimpse of the castle behind them, but naught but a faint shimmer in the distance reminded him of what they had left behind.

He leaned forward again, dodging Helena's hair blown back in his face by the winds. "What a peculiar girl," he thought to himself. He felt sorry for what she is facing, but was yet still upset about her behavior. If father had known that Lucio would spend the days in court with the little spitfire, he might have rather send him further north instead to the Di Vicenzo family.

"Di Vicenzo," he whispered, and a shudder ran through his body. Last time he saw the young Di Vicenzon heiress, he near confused her with the beast they were riding on. Suddenly he was glad his father had sent him South.

Lucio saw the knight leaning over to a second and whispering something. The castle was an impressive construct, with two massive stone towers overlooking the country side. Gauging from the fires on the castle walls, the lord ran heavy patrols even, or especially, in this time of night.

Lucio slid off the horse, and walked up to Helena, turning his back to the castle guards. "These men do not seem inviting," he whispered. "Are you sure of their allegiance? Many a lord switched sides in this conflict." He turned his head to look up at the guards again. "And even if, gauging from their numerous guard fires, they are either scared of someone, or preparing for something completely different."
